Flavored Cigarettes—A Thing Of The Past

Flavored Cigarettes—The Plan That Backfired

Cigarette manufacturers have really gone a long way just to gather more customers to their products and services. One gig they have thought off is through the creation of special kinds of cigarettes. Since smoking is referred to some as an acquired taste, these producers have found a way to capture smokers through their taste buds. With this in mind, they have created numerous batches of flavored cigarettes.

The first flavor that tobacco and cigarette companies have released is, of course, the regular flavor. This has the original tobacco taste which many love. The next flavor that has surfaced, that has become a real hit for people is menthol. This gives smokers experience a cool sensation while they smoke. At the same time, the minty feeling makes it better to smoke. Yet another flavor is clove. This certain object is actually a spice placed on meat. This is actually sold in different countries worldwide.

After the emergence of these three flavors, others came out with their own. Flavors like orange chocolate, cherry, cola and many others came out. With these, most packs were designed to look attractive to appeal to the smoking population. Unfortunately, cigarette manufacturers got more than what they bargained for. Instead of attracting smokes to their commodities, they managed to hook a part of the population that was not supposed to be part of the plan: teenagers.

Flavored Cigarettes—The US Take On Them

Although smoking is not banned, the United States government has banned certain flavored cigarettes. Ones which can be bought in the market are the regular and the menthol one. This law took to effect last September. This is to prevent children from trying cigarettes and having them exposed to harmful chemicals which can hinder them from attaining good health. This was done because every day more and more get addicted to smoking at a very young age.

Regardless of the fact that this is true in the United State of America, there are still some countries which offer smokers flavored cigarettes with appealing taglines and packaging. Possibly, it will be a matter of time before states and governments adapt to the flavored cigarette ban rule that the US president has implemented. As for many Americans, cigarette flavors are now only a thing of the past.
